PEPE DO CUCO´S HUT
THE EVOLUTION OF TIMES
Pepe do Cuco's hut is an old fisherman's hut converted into a small interpretive space dedicated to local history. It was donated by the family of Pepe do Cuco, the last person who used it for its intended purpose, protect his boat and fishing gear from the weather. This is a type of construction commonly used in coastal villages.
It is located approximately in the middle of the "Camiños de Andar ao Mar" route that goes from the Lariño´s Lightghouse to Carnota beach and you can access its interior by reading a Qr code. The museum is designed so that independent visits can be made, you will only need a mobile phone to be able to access it.
Inside you get surrounded by the fisherman’s way of life, the relationship of our people with the sea which although is so close it also evolves as the time passes by.
In Carnota, a large number of this type of huts are still preserved throughout the municipality and in many cases they continue to fullfill their original use, highlighting among them a set of 30 fishermen's huts in Caldebarcos.
