The municipality of Carnota has a unique attraction; an incalculable natural heritage, a great archaeological richness, landscape, cultural and gastronomic wealth. It is a must visit place on any trip through Galicia.
There are a wide range of activities for visitors, plenty of things to do whether you are a beach or mountain lover, you will be able to plan your trip according to your preferences, but there will always be a place to discover, a legend to meet or an experience to live.
OLIMPO CELTA
This huge stone colossus, which rises from the sea, reaches a height of 627 m and is listed as a Point of Geological Interest of National Importance. The astonishing beauty of its landscape of bare rocks immerses us in an impossible dream of figures that look like giants, warriors, demons, turtles, lions and imaginary beings.
Mount Pindo is also a natural gem for its biodiversity, which houses species of high ecological value.
7 KM OF SAND
Carnota beach is one of these places that will leave you breathless; a 7 km long beach in the shape of a perfect half moon and flanked by a set of dunes and marshes with an interior lake; As a backdrop, Mount Pindo looks at us from the heights of its harsh beauty.
In the center of the beach, the estuary of the Vadebois River forms an impressive landscape of enormous stones and
natural pools with crystalline waters, A Boca do Río, a place very known and appreciated by bathers, where you can also enjoy a privileged enclave for observing aquatic, marine and terrestrial birds.
HÓRREOS XXL
The hórreo de Carnota is one of the most emblematic and well-known in all of Galicia, a distinctive symbol of Carnota municipality and a must-see element on your tour of the Costa da Morte. This gem of Galician heritage was built in 1768.
The baroque-style barn rests on 22 pairs of feet and is part of an architectural ensemble of great beauty made up of the church, the rectory and the dovecote. This 34 m long giant is listed as a "National Monument".

MUSEO
ARQUEOLÓXICO ABERTO
An exciting journey into the past, a 10 km route that through forests and natural spaces with privileged views. In this open-air museum you will be able to learn about the most important archaeological sites in the territory. You will discover Bronze Age petroglyphs, dated between the 3rd and 2nd millennium BC. of C., with representations of concentric circles, zoomorphs, weapons, crosses or vessels.
The petroglyphs that make up the museum are: A Laxe Escrita, As Laxiñas, O Afilladuiro, Prousos Magos and Rego Lamoso.
