Mount Pindo moves towards a model of sustainable, high-quality tourism

The Municipalities of Carnota, Dumbría and Mazaricos have joined forces in a new scientific tourism project, an initiative aimed at showcasing this unique natural area through knowledge, outreach and the protection of its heritage.

The proposal has the support of the Provincial Council of A Coruña, which is providing €86,000 for the development of key initiatives, including improvements to trail signage to enhance visitor safety and the creation of educational materials. The aim is to offer a more comprehensive and rigorous experience, encouraging visitors to discover Mount Pindo through landscape interpretation, environmental conservation and respect for its unique cultural heritage.

This joint project provides a new boost to the coordinated promotion of Mount Pindo as a landmark destination on the Costa da Morte. Through this initiative, the aim is to move towards a tourism model that combines quality, sustainability and a strong sense of local identity, ensuring that visitors can discover and enjoy a natural area of outstanding value.

At Carnota Town Council, we continue to work to ensure that Mount Pindo remains a symbol of living, protected nature, open to research, outreach and responsible tourism.
